Oklahoma City is the birthplace of American night racing. In 2006, event organizers and community partners made history with the first ever night racing in North America. Since 2006, OG&E NightSprints has continued to power the river, adding more light and more intense competition.The OG&E NightSprints is blend sports and entertainment, creating an electric rock concert atmosphere on the banks of the Oklahoma River. It’s putting Oklahoma City in the international spotlight, and re-introducing the sport in a fresh, bold new way.
The company that makes it all possible, OG&E, has made a serious commitment to the innovation of the OCU Head of the Oklahoma and to the Oklahoma River venue. In addition to OG&E NightSprints, the company has created an Oklahoma City icon with the OGE Lightscape named “TOGETHER” on the Lincoln Bridge at Regatta Park.
The energy efficient lighting has a lifespan of 100,000 hours and is projected to last more than 20 years. “TOGETHER” represents one more way OG&E is adding to the economic viability and beauty of the Oklahoma River.
