SPECTATORS

The 2009 Boot of the Oklahoma is all about fun on the Oklahoma River!

Whether you're a first time spectator or a long time fan of racing on the Oklahoma River, you'll find a new twist at this year's event. New boathouse construction and development of the Oklahoma River shoreline in Regatta Park have begun, which means a one-time change in our fall racing event. This year's event is being held at the Exchange Boathouse, 1391 Exchange Ave., on the Western Basin of the Oklahoma River adjacent to historic Stockyards City.

Saturday's racing offers a mix of 4000m head racing and the OGE Stampede 500m sprints. This year's sprints will take place Saturday afternoon, making it a fun and exciting time to bring the whole family to watch some of the top teams in the U.S. battle it out to the finish line. You'll also find a selection of food vendors, a children's area and lots of Western flavor at this year's event.

Join us Sunday morning for more head racing, and stay into the afternoon to cheer on your favorite corporate rowing and dragon boating teams in the 2009 Corporate Stampede.

It promises to be a boot-scootin' weekend of family fun on the Oklahoma River!

Be sure to mark your calendar for October 9-10, 2010 when the Oklahoma Regatta Festival and the OCU Head of the Oklahoma return with all the fine food, live music, art – and the OGE NightSprints - you've come to expect from Oklahoma's premier fall racing event! Learn more about all the exciting developments on the Oklahoma River!
